Twenty-nine applications for the position of project manager for the implementation of Create the Vision have been received by the City of Centerville and Washington Township.
Create the Vision is the comprehensive community plan developed over a 17-month period by a citizen-based committee. The plan has been adopted by both the city and township as a guide to development over the next 20 years.
Following adoption of the plan, the city and township created an Implementation Task Force. Three sub-committees have been formed by the task force and the city and township have moved to hire a consultant to work with zoning and land use regulations.
The project manager will work with the task force to set implementation priorities for achieving the plan’s eight goals, 51 strategies and 198 objectives.
A search committee, made up of city and township officials and members of the task force, will review the applications and manage the selection process. The schedule calls for discussion of the appointment of the project manager at the task force meeting April 13.
Ads describing the position were published in the Dayton Daily News, the Centerville-Bellbrook Times, the Columbus Dispatch and the Cincinnati Enquirer. The ad was also posted on the project’s Web site (createthevision.org) as well as the city and township Web sites.
Deadline for filing applications for the position was February 18.
