Implementation Task Force Is Appointed



Centerville City Council and Washington Township Trustees have appointed a task force to monitor the implementation of Create the Vision, the plan to guide development of the city and township for the next 20 years. Create the Vision was developed by a 34-member citizen-based Steering Committee over an 18 month period.

Brooks Compton, a member of the Centerville City Council, and Tom Zobrist, Washington Township’s Clerk-Treasurer, have been appointed co-chairs of the Implementation Task Force.

The task force has been meeting informally for the past several weeks and has formed three subcommittees to deal with the eight goals, nine study areas, 51 objectives and 198 strategies. The subcommittees, chairs and membership are:

Land Use and Community Appearance — Jenni Roer, chair; and Paul Clark, Harry Drain, Carolyn Meininger, and Bob Daley.

Parks and Recreation, Community Service and Education — Cynthia Fraley, chair; and Richard Carr, Carol Kennard, Cynthia Klinck, and Gary Smiga.

Economic Development, Transportation and Utilities — Carol Fischer, chair; and Jane Beach, Jon Hazelton, Scott Liberman, and Ralph Stahl.

Steve Feverston, Centerville City Planner, and Gary Huff, Township Administrator, are members of the task force.

Here is the schedule of upcoming meetings:

July 14 — Washington Township Fire Department
August 11 — Washington Township Fire Department
September 8 — Washington Township Government Center
October 27 — Washington Township Government Center
November 10 — Washington Township Fire Department
December 8 — Washington Township Fire Department


Meetings at the Washington Township Fire Department, located at 8320 McEwen Road, will be held in the Training Room. Meetings at the Washington Township Government Center, located at 8200 McEwen Road, will be in the Meeting Room.

All meetings will begin at 7 p.m.
