Task Force Recommends City and Township Hire
Consultant to Revise Zoning Regulations

Appointment of a consultant to revise zoning regulations in the City of Centerville and Washington Township won the unanimous recommendation of members of Create the Vision’s Implementation Task Force at their December 8 meeting.

The consultants — ACP Visioning and Planning of Columbus — worked with a citizen’s committee for two years in the development of the plan and are familiar with the community and the work that needs to be done, Task Force members said.

Next step is for city and township officials to consider the recommendation, and, if they are favorable, negotiate the budget and details of the work to be done. The job may take as much as a year, the consulting firm noted when outlining the proposal in November.
Task Force committee members will now shift their attention to the suggestion of hiring a project manager for implementing Create the Vision’s eight goals, 51 objectives and 198 strategies for developing the community over the next 20 years.

According to a draft job description for the project manager, the position would be part-time. The project manager would be responsible for implementing the community plan for the city and township, coordinate its initiatives with all public bodies in the city and township and report to the Implementation Task Force.

The next meeting of the Implementation Task Force is schedule for Wednesday, January 12.
